About Us
Rotary International is the largest service organization in the world with more than 1.2 million members and 33,000 clubs. Our Club strives to carry the torch within San Marcos through our dedication to the community. We participate in Reach Out and Read (ROAR), which provides books for new parents to help promote literacy. We assist those in need of jobs through our annual Job Fair. We support the Cock House annually with one of the biggest meal events for the Historical Society. We also support young minds as they move forward into college or vocational school through scholarships and other projects throughout the year. We support three Rotary Youth organizations in San Marcos: Interact Club at San Marcos High School, Rotaract at Texas State and EarlyAct at Travis Elementary. We also work to serve our regional community through our school and hygiene packs program in which we provide several communities in Northern Mexico with school supplies for the year and general hygiene goods.
Rotary Four-Way Test
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build good will and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
More about us
The Rotary family is a great support network. We enjoy getting together and working on projects - whether it be preparing school packs, working in the Cock House kitchen or playing golf, we just like to have fun. We make efforts in improving our community through our service work, ethical living and positive support to those around us.
Each Rotary member throughout the world has the responsibility to support the Rotary Foundation. The Foundation is the charity Arm of Rotary and conducts all types of aid and humanitarian acts around the world. Since it is a charity, donations are encouraged but not required, though each Rotarian is encouraged to contribute to the Polio Plus project or international scholarship funds, as well as other projects.
